Again, the biggest two sources of issues and potential problems I've seen are version differences (80/92) and mentioned earlier, common bug with an endless loop of updates-certification on launch, that forces people to do workaround patching.
At this moment I can't remember exactly what I did and in what order, but if that .exe is changed/swapped I'm 90% sure it was changed during that offline patching. I have a 993MB archive 'Anno2070_Offlinepatcher_2_00.zip' I used for that.
